Make transfers even easier with TubBuddy Tilt

The SB2T is Showerbuddy’s tilting chair variation of the popular bathtub mobility solution TubBuddy. With TubBuddy Tilt, the transfer in and out of the bath is more comfortable with leg clearance requiring less effort by you or your carer.

Shower Access works with OTs regularly to provide solutions for Australians that have degraded or no leg movement at all. These individuals require extra support to make bathroom activity safe and comfortable. We also consider the assistant/carer in the equation as they are required to do the heavy lifting of transfers.
TubBuddy Tilt from Showerbuddy is a popular solution if you have a tub-style shower and existing or evolving challenges with leg mobility and knee movement.
The design of TubBuddy Tilt is similar to the regular TubBuddy, with the additional feature of being able to lean back between 0 and 30 degrees. This enables a carer to transfer you from outside the bathtub over the edge and into the bath without needing to lift your legs manually. But it’s not just transfers that make TubBuddy Tilt a good choice – a tilted body position also shifts weight distribution and takes pressure off parts of the body during the bathing process. Along with comfort, a leaning body position supports carer access and gives more flexibility on body positions to choose from.  The tilt release can be swapped left to right to fit your specific bathroom layout and carer preference.
When it’s not providing comfortable, hassle-free transfers into the tub, TubBuddy Tilt offers all the great features of the Showerbuddy and TubBuddy – a complete commode system, toilet chair, high quality warranty-covered frame and ease of installation and removal.

Quick Facts – SB2T

  • Chair can be tilted by assistant
  • Leg clearance enabled by lean-back body position
  • Tilt release can be switched between left and right side to suit bathroom configuration
  • Tilt can also aid bathing process with large range of positions (0-30 deg)
  • No bathroom changes required.

Using the TubBuddy Tilt

Taking a shower

The TubBuddy Tilt makes showering quicker and more comfortable than ever before for mobility impaired users.  It’s made up of 3 components – the premium chair unit, the transfer bridge and the stable tub base. When others need to use the bathtub, the base can be removed quickly and stored elsewhere.

When you’re ready to shower:

  • A carer will prepare you for bathing and secure you with included safety belts as required.
  • The chair is then tilted using the tilt release function. You’ll be leant back to a comfortable and safe position that clears feet from the edge of the tub.
  • You can now be transferred across the sturdy, secure bridge made from high grade aluminium, into the tub in one fluid movement by the carer.
  • You’re now on the stable tub base, locked into place underneath and on the sides of the tub.
  • As you take a shower, the carer will be able to adjust your body to your preference.
  • After the shower, the carer just reverses the transfer out of the tub, back onto the base, ready for other bathroom tasks.

Using the toilet

TubBuddy tilt is your toilet support, too.

  • The chair (in standard upright position) is placed over your toilet – the height adjustable seat clears most standard household toilets.
  • The chairs wheels are locked into place with the included brake.  You’re now safely in position.
  • Once finished, simply release the caster wheels from their locked mode and a carer can move you off the toilet and resume other bathroom tasks.
  • The frame is easy to clean, made from durable, resistant materials.
  • You’ll also get the benefit of a complete commode system with an easy to access bucket – ideal for when your TubBuddy Tilt is next to the bed at night or elsewhere with you.
  • When you aren’t using TubBuddy Tilt for the toilet, you can cover the cushion cut out with the included insert.
